- Blend with cast-in-place concrete
GFRC and faux concrete plaster, blending into cast-in-place.
The project mixed GFRC pieces and plaster finishes with adjacent cast-in-place concrete walls and columns, and the transitions were not allowed to show.
The faux concrete plaster assembly had to read as a seamless continuation of the structural concrete next to it.
How Caston Built It
The approach that kept the date
GFRC by Caston
The GFRC pieces were provided within the Caston package, coordinated with the framing and barriers behind them.
Faux concrete plaster
A faux concrete plaster assembly was developed to blend seamlessly with the adjacent cast-in-place walls and columns.
One crew, six scopes
Framing, plaster, GFRC, scaffolding, drywall, and air barriers ran through a single team, so the blend lines were one team's responsibility.
Mockup-driven finishes
Finishes were worked out before full installation, so the blend was proven before it was permanent.
