A large campus. A compressed schedule.
Portola High School was a large project on a compressed, tight schedule, with framing, fireproofing, carpentry, plaster, acoustical plaster, scaffolding, drywall, and acoustical insulation all moving at once.
The schedule only worked if the multi-discipline package moved as a single coordinated effort instead of a chain of handoffs between subcontractors.
How Caston Built It
The approach that kept the date
Eight scopes, one team
Metal stud framing, fireproofing, rough carpentry, lath and plaster, acoustical plaster, scaffolding, drywall, and acoustical insulation all ran through Caston.
Built for a compressed calendar
Crews and sequences were sized against a schedule with no slack, so the multi-discipline package moved as one effort.
Acoustics handled in house
Acoustical plaster and spray applied acoustical insulation were self-performed alongside the framing and board they depend on.
Own access
Caston scaffolding kept exterior and high work on the project's calendar, not a vendor's.
